Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Auris ("we," "us," "our") collects when you visit get-auris.com or join our waitlist, why we collect it, and what choices you have. Auris is currently a pre-launch waitlist for an upcoming iOS app — this policy will be updated as the product develops.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly:
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist
- Your first name, if you choose to provide it (it's optional)
- The conversation scenarios you tell us you're interested in practicing
Information collected automatically:
- Approximate location (country, region, and city) derived from your IP address — never your precise GPS location
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- The page that referred you and any campaign parameters (UTM tags) in the link you arrived from
- A random visitor and session identifier we generate and store in your browser's local storage, so we can tell repeat visits from new ones — this is a first-party identifier, not a third-party ad-tracking cookie
- A one-way, salted hash of your IP address, used only to detect duplicate signups and abuse. We never store your raw IP address
- If you arrived through a friend's referral link, the referral code in that link (see Section 6)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To hold your place on the waitlist and email you when early access opens, along with your founding-member discount
- To understand, in aggregate, where our signups come from and which parts of the site and product people care about most
- To detect and prevent spam and abuse of our signup form
- To improve Auris before and after launch
We do not use your information to make any automated decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
We don't currently use third-party advertising cookies. The visitor and session identifiers described above are first-party and stored in your browser's local storage, used only to power our own internal analytics dashboard. If we later add a third-party analytics or advertising provider (for example, Google Analytics or Meta), we'll update this policy before doing so.
4. Who We Share Information With
We use a small number of service providers to run this site, and they process data on our behalf under their own security and confidentiality obligations:
- Supabase — hosts our waitlist database
- Vercel — hosts the website and its backend functions
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Auris, our users, or others.
5. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep waitlist information for as long as you remain on the waitlist, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we'll remove your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to retain limited records to comply with the law or resolve disputes.
6. Referrals
Each waitlist member gets a unique referral link they can share. If someone joins the waitlist using your link, we record that their signup is associated with your referral code so we can (now or in the future) recognize and thank people who help spread the word. We do not share your personal information with the people you refer, or theirs with you, beyond what's needed to track that a referral happened.
7. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & correction — you can ask us what information we hold about you and request corrections
- Deletion — you can ask us to remove you from the waitlist and delete your personal information at any time
- Unsubscribe — every email we send will include a one-click unsubscribe link
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.
8. Children's Privacy
Auris is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process and store information in the United States or other countries where they operate. By using this site, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and salted, one-way hashing of sensitive identifiers like IP addresses. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Auris develops, especially around launch. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and post material changes prominently on this page.
